CARE for Scotland’s involvement in education focuses on:

  • Making appropriate representations to the Scottish Government on policy matters affecting education
  • Providing information, support and resources to Christian parents and to Christian professionals working within the education system
  • Encouraging churches and individual Christians to pray for the education service and to play an active part within it

From School Boards to Parent Councils 
As of 1st August 2007, the method by which parents were involved in their children’s schools through school boards has changed. School boards have been replaced by parent councils and parent forums.

‘evaluate – informing choice’

CARE for Scotland’s publication 'Sex and Relationships Education in Scotland' is intended to help school managers develop this area of the curriculum in the light of relevant legislation, and it stresses the need to consult with parents about the approach and content of sex education programmes. The book also provides useful information for parents.
