Last year the Government published the UK Action Plan on Tackling Human Trafficking in response to a consultation document published in 2006. The consultation sought responses from charities and NGOs such as CARE on their thoughts about trafficking.

Other organisations working in this field
Beyond the Streets exists to unite, equip and empower groups working with people involved in prostitution to offer freedom and change. NCAP has over 45 affiliated projects who work with around 4,000 people caught up in prostitution throughout the UK.
Stop The Traffik is a coalition which brings together many of the organisations, charities, NGOs, Churches, individuals and Schools that are working to end human trafficking worldwide.
CHASTE (Churches Alert to Sex Trafficking across Europe) actively works for the global eradication of Trafficking for Sexual Exploitation, the provision of practical care and support for those who have been trafficked, and the suppression of demand which drives the supply of women and children into the sex markets of Europe.
International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to promote functioning public justice systems. IJM UK also works to educate and mobilise the Church to seek justice on behalf of the oppression by creating a consciousness of the biblical mandate for justice. IJM UK encourages and equips churches, student groups and other partners in ministry to provide relief through prayer, finances, education and volunteer work.
Break the Traffic is an opportunity for people to voice their opposition to human trafficking. This online petition is a creative way to express solidarity with those who have been trafficked and to signal globally that human trafficking should not be accepted today.
