The CARE Leadership Programme is all about developing a Christian mind. This is sometimes harder than we think, for although we may attend church on Sundays and the occasional Christian conference that develops our spiritual lives, many of us have been immersed in a modern education system, which, whether we realise it or not, forms the basis of how we think.
God calls us to love him with all of our heart, soul and mind. If God is sovereign then he is sovereign over every part of our lives – our worship on a Sunday, our private time spent in prayer, and our study or work during the week. This knowledge of God’s sovereignty should form the basis of our reasoning, our thinking, and the way we view the world. We then need to learn how to live in light of this knowledge and communicate this to a society that does not share this view; that in fact speaks an entirely different language.
The Leadership Programme offers you the opportunity to really grapple with these issues and put them into practice.
You will be immersed in some of the best Christian thinking. You will meet key Christians who have and are making a difference in the public arena. You will be engaged in the world of policy and advocacy through voluntary placements which have, over the years, taken place in Westminster, in Edinburgh, in Brussels, in the media, and in the Third Sector.
The programme runs annually from September to July. It is a full-time programme including a number of evening and weekend commitments.
