Pornography

We have always been concerned about the effects of pornography on individuals, families and society at large. The drip, drip effect of regularly accessing pornography can be damaging to relationships in a number of ways:

- Pornography distorts reality

- Leads to being unsatisfied by real life partners

- Portrays people as prizes

- Devalues sex

- Can promote sexual violence towards women

Since the 1970’s, we have monitored the increasing impact of ‘adult’ material, which has become steadily more explicit and easy to access, especially through the internet. We are currently working with Baroness Howe on the issue of online safety for children.

' Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable. If anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. '

Philippians 4: 8 (NIV)
